These terms govern your use of futureshop.co.za and every FutureShop plan offered by FutureShop (Pty) Ltd, trading as FutureShop, of 21 Bradford Road, Bedfordview, Germiston, 2090 (“we”, “us”). By submitting a FutureShop application you agree to these terms. They incorporate our Privacy Policy and Returns, Refunds & Cancellations Policy.
1. How a FutureShop plan works
A FutureShop plan splits the full price of a product into equal monthly payments over the term you select (from 5 to 15 months). You pay no interest and no fees: the total of all your payments always equals the product’s advertised price. Your goods are delivered once you have completed the number of payments shown on your plan (the halfway point — for example, after payment 5 on a 9-payment plan). The remaining payments continue monthly after delivery until the full price is paid. The exact schedule, including dates and amounts, is shown to you at checkout and recorded in your contract.
2. Application and contract
Completing checkout is an application, not a concluded sale. No payment is taken at checkout. We will email you a FutureShop contract setting out your product, payment schedule, debit order details and delivery terms. Your plan begins only once you have signed and returned the contract, and your first payment is collected on the debit date you chose. If we cannot accept your application, we will notify you and no amounts will be collected.
3. Payments
Payments are collected monthly by debit order from the account you authorise, on the day you selected. If a debit fails, we will notify you and re-attempt collection. Missed payments before delivery extend your saving period and postpone delivery accordingly; they do not attract penalties or interest. If your plan falls more than two payments behind, we may suspend it and contact you to make an arrangement, or treat the plan as cancelled in accordance with our cancellation policy.
4. Delivery
Delivery is triggered automatically when you reach your plan’s delivery point. We will contact you to arrange a delivery date. Risk in the goods passes to you on delivery. Ownership of the goods remains with us until the final payment is received, after which ownership passes to you automatically.
5. Post-delivery obligations
After delivery you remain responsible for the remaining scheduled payments. If post-delivery payments are missed and no arrangement is made within 30 days of our notice to you, we may recover the goods and refund your payments less our reasonable costs, or agree an amended schedule with you.
6. Pricing and product information
All prices are in South African Rand and include VAT. We take care to describe products accurately; images are illustrative. If a pricing error occurs we will notify you before your contract is issued and you may cancel without cost.
7. Your statutory rights
Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 (CPA) or the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 (ECTA), including the ECTA seven-day cooling-off right for online purchases and the CPA six-month warranty against defects. Details are in our Returns, Refunds & Cancellations Policy.
8. General
These terms are governed by South African law. If any provision is unenforceable, the remainder stands. We may update these terms from time to time; the version in force when you apply governs your plan. Queries and disputes: info@futureshop.co.za · 011 616 4129.
