FutureShop (Pty) Ltd, trading as FutureShop (“we”, “us”), of 21 Bradford Road, Bedfordview, Germiston, 2090, is committed to protecting your personal information in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).

1. Information we collect

When you browse, register, or apply for a FutureShop plan we collect: identity and contact details (name, phone, email, billing and delivery address); application details (product chosen, payment plan, preferred debit day); banking details you provide for debit order collection (bank name and account number); and technical data (IP address, browser type, pages visited) collected through cookies and analytics.

2. Why we collect it

We use your information to process your FutureShop application and prepare your contract; to collect instalments by debit order on the day you have authorised; to deliver your goods and provide customer support; to comply with legal obligations, including tax and consumer-protection law; and, with your consent, to send you our newsletter or promotions. We do not sell your personal information to anyone.

3. Banking details

Your banking details are used solely to prepare your debit order mandate as set out in your FutureShop contract. Nothing is debited from your account until you have received and signed your contract. Banking details are stored securely, are accessible only to authorised staff, and are never shared except with our payment collection provider for the purpose of processing your authorised debit order.

4. Who we share information with

We share information only where necessary to deliver our service: with couriers (name, address and phone for delivery), with our payment and debit order processors, with our website and email service providers, and where required by law. All service providers are bound to protect your information.

5. Retention

We keep your information for the duration of your FutureShop plan and thereafter for as long as the law requires (typically five years for financial records). Application information for plans that do not proceed is deleted within twelve months.

6. Your rights under POPIA

You have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you; to ask us to correct or delete it; to object to processing, including direct marketing; to withdraw consent at any time; and to lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (South Africa) at inforegulator.org.za or complaints.IR@inforegulator.org.za.

7. Cookies

Our site uses cookies for the shopping cart, login sessions and anonymised analytics. You can disable cookies in your browser, though the cart and checkout require them to function.

8. Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), restricted access and secure hosting, to protect your information against loss, misuse and unauthorised access.
